Description
Up for your consideration is an original vintage 8X10 official US Navy photograph in great condition. This is part of an album found in a estate with more than 60 released US Navy photos from the period 1952-1962. The glossy, coated photographic paper has a very smooth, shiny and reflective surface.
Condition is clean and nice as shown in pictures, with no visible marks or bends. It may have very minor edge and corner wear. It has 3 holes to fix it to a 3-ring binder and notes typed on the back with blue ink, detailing content. Please, note the blue horizontal watermark is not present in the original photograph.

The 1950s marked the development of the U.S. Navy’s “supercarriers” beginning with USS Forrestal (CVA 59), commissioned in 1955. Ships in this class measured 1,036 feet in length with a displacement of 56,000 tons and a fully integrated angled deck. They could carry up to 90 aircraft and had the most spacious hangar and flight decks.
